Check the Companion App Before Buying a Connected Toy
Before ordering an app-controlled toy, find the exact companion app in your own phone's official store. A screenshot of an app on someone else's phone does not establish that it is available for your account, region or device.
Match the app and developer
Use the link or QR information supplied for the precise model. Check the developer name as well as the app title; similar names and icons can lead to unrelated software. For Dear Tingle, ask support for the current manufacturer link if the listing is unclear.
Read the store requirements
Check operating-system compatibility, supported device information and availability while signed into your normal store account. Google Play allows developers to choose countries for production availability, so a listing may not be offered everywhere.
Do not change regions or install an unknown package merely to make a purchase appear compatible. Resolve the official availability question before ordering the hardware.
Look beyond installation
Read the privacy disclosures, account requirements and developer support contact. If the app can be opened before you own a toy, inspect the non-connected interface without inventing a successful pairing test. A demo screen is not evidence that the real device communicates.
Check the fallback
Ask which functions work through manual controls if the app later becomes unavailable. The answer may affect whether connected features are essential or optional for you.
Our phone-free operation guide helps frame that question. Verify the currently supported manufacturer app for the exact model; a planned feature is not an available control option.
