Vibrator Dimensions: Convert Centimetres and Inches Correctly

Rostan Machane ·

To compare dimensions in centimetres and inches, first convert both measurements into the same unit. One inch is exactly 2.54 centimetres, or 25.4 millimetres. A conversion fixes the units; you still need to check that both listings measured the same part of the product.

Use these three calculations

  • Millimetres to centimetres: divide by 10.
  • Centimetres to inches: divide by 2.54.
  • Inches to centimetres: multiply by 2.54.

For example, an illustrative 150 mm measurement equals 15 cm, which is approximately 5.91 inches. An illustrative 6-inch measurement equals 15.24 cm. These are arithmetic examples, not dimensions of a Dear Tingle product.

Keep an extra decimal place while calculating, then round for comparison. Rounding 5.91 inches to “about 6 inches” is useful for imagining size, but it should not silently replace an exact specification in an order question.

Compare length with length

On each diagram, find the arrow showing the measurement. Does it cover the whole device, only the handle, the contact head or a usable section? Two numbers can use the same unit while describing different things.

A curved device adds another question: is the length measured straight between the ends or along the curve? Converting either number will not resolve that difference. Ask which method was used when the diagram is unclear.

Do not substitute circumference for width

Width crosses a shape; circumference goes around it. They are not interchangeable. For a mathematically circular cross-section, circumference equals diameter multiplied by pi. A sculpted or oval product does not become circular because a listing supplies one width.

Use the manufacturer's actual dimensions rather than calculating a missing body-contact measurement from an attractive product photograph. Perspective, cropping and display props can distort the scale you perceive.

Check a suspicious conversion before checkout

If a chart says 150 mm and 15 inches for the same arrow, those values do not agree. Send the seller the diagram and ask which number belongs to the exact variant. Do not choose the value you prefer and hope it is the correct one.
