Vibrator Travel Lock: What It Does and How to Check It

Rostan Machane ·

A travel lock is a control feature intended to prevent accidental activation. It is not something every rechargeable vibrator has, and there is no universal button sequence. The useful answer is in the instructions for your exact model.

Find the feature before trying combinations

Search the manual for “travel lock,” “transport lock” or “button lock.” If the listing only says rechargeable, portable or discreet, those words do not confirm a lock. Ask support whether the feature exists and what visible signal confirms it.

LELO, for example, publishes a simultaneous-button sequence in its own FAQ. That establishes how the feature can be documented; it does not establish the sequence for a Dear Tingle product or a similar-looking device.

Test the documented sequence at home

Read the instructions with the device outside its pouch. Apply the documented locking sequence and look for the stated confirmation. Then make the ordinary brief button press described by the manufacturer to check that the lock behaves as expected. Finally, unlock it using the same manual and confirm you can switch it off again.

If the signal is different from the manual, stop guessing. Photograph the model label and describe the light behaviour to support. A device that will not start may be locked, uncharged or faulty; “it is definitely the lock” is not a diagnosis you can make from silence alone.

Pack without pressure on the buttons

A lock does not replace sensible packing. Keep heavy objects from pressing on the controls and protect the device from damage. Check the manufacturer's storage instructions and the rules for your journey separately. This guide explains the control feature, not airline or destination restrictions.

If you are considering a Dear Tingle model for travel, ask us to confirm its lock and dimensions before buying. Our size guide helps you plan the space for the product and its cable.
