How to Check a Personal Device for a Recall
Use the exact product identity when checking a recall. A similar-looking object in a social post is a reason to investigate, not enough to decide that a notice does or does not apply.
Gather the identifiers
Find the brand, model, serial or batch information and purchase record. A retailer's display name may differ from the manufacturer identifier, so ask for help matching them if necessary.
Search official notices
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission provides a recall and safety-warning search. Health Canada's recall site provides Canadian alerts and notices. Read the affected-products section and the stated remedy, not just a search-result headline.
This guide has not cleared every Dear Tingle model against every notice. It explains how to investigate a particular concern.
Match the details
Compare model numbers, dates and batches where the notice provides them. If your label is unreadable or the identity remains uncertain, contact the company named in the official notice or the original retailer before continuing use.
Follow the actual remedy
Do not improvise a repair or disposal method from another recall. Instructions can differ according to the hazard. Use verified contact information from the notice rather than an unsolicited message asking for payment or account credentials.
For Dear Tingle purchases, keep the order number available for support. If the device shows an immediate physical hazard, follow the warning-sign guidance without waiting to find a matching recall. The absence of a search result is not a guarantee that a damaged product is safe.
