Flying With a Rechargeable Vibrator: Battery Checks
For a rechargeable vibrator with a lithium battery, start with the rules for battery-powered electronic devices. The US Federal Aviation Administration recommends carrying these devices in cabin baggage. Your airline and destination can add requirements, so check your actual itinerary before packing.
Identify what is inside the device
Read the model's battery information and keep it available with your travel documents. “USB rechargeable” alone does not tell you the battery chemistry or capacity. Ask the seller if the manual is missing; do not open a sealed device to inspect the battery.
For a Dear Tingle order, include the model and order number in a private support request. The exact unit matters more than a general answer about vibrators.
Prevent accidental activation and damage
Switch the device off and protect its controls from pressure. If it has a documented travel lock, check it before packing. Our travel-lock guide explains how to find the correct instructions without guessing a button combination.
The FAA says devices placed in checked baggage must be fully powered off and protected against accidental activation and damage. Spare lithium batteries have separate cabin-baggage requirements. Follow the current official guidance for the batteries and accessories you actually carry.
Check more than the security checkpoint
Airline battery rules, airport screening, liquids limits and destination restrictions are separate questions. An answer about US battery carriage does not establish whether an intimate product may be imported into another country. Check official destination guidance as well as your carrier's instructions.
Do not rely on a forum comment promising that nobody will inspect the bag. Screening decisions cannot be predicted from another traveller's experience. Pack in a way that allows you to identify the item without exposing private account information or unrelated belongings.
Do not travel with a damaged battery device
The FAA restricts damaged or recalled battery-powered devices that could create dangerous heat or sparks. If your device is damaged or behaving abnormally, resolve that with the seller and airline before travelling rather than treating it as an ordinary packing question.
