Why a Toy Listing May Say Silicone and ABS
A listing that names two materials is describing a mixed construction, not necessarily a uniform outer layer. Ask which components use each material and which surfaces are intended for body contact.
Read the material list literally
Dear Tingle's Capsule and Halo descriptions both list silicone and ABS. That establishes the named materials in the saved descriptions. It does not map every component, specify a grade or prove that a particular visible section is one material rather than another.
Do not infer construction solely from a matte finish, gloss or colour. Two surfaces can look similar in studio lighting while having different care instructions.
Ask for the component map
A useful enquiry is: “Which material forms the body-contact surface, handle, controls and any removable component on this version?” If allergy or a clinical concern is involved, take the actual material information to a qualified clinician rather than relying on a broad marketing phrase.
Follow the whole-device instructions
The care method must suit the assembled product, including its electronics and seals. A statement about one material does not establish that the complete item can be boiled, submerged or cleaned with a particular chemical.
Keep claims separate
Material, water resistance, intended use and testing are four different questions. A clear answer to one should not silently become an answer to all four.
Dear Tingle's cleaner guide explains how to match care instructions with a cleaning product. If the material description is incomplete, resolve it before choosing a care method or assuming compatibility with a lubricant.
