A Vibrator Will Not Turn On: A Short Triage Checklist
Start with the condition of the device, then the documented controls. An unresponsive toy is not a reason to open the housing or try random chargers.
First, rule out visible danger
If the device is damaged, swollen, leaking or unusually hot, stop testing and seek appropriate support. For smoke, sparks or another immediate hazard, move away and contact emergency services. Do not handle it to collect evidence.
Check the exact power sequence
Find the manual for your version. A short press and a sustained press can have different functions. Check whether a travel lock is documented and follow only its stated release method. A button combination from a similar model is not a reliable substitute.
Separate power from charging
If the device is intact and its instructions call for charging, use the specified equipment and procedure. Health Canada advises using the proper charger and not modifying or repairing battery devices unless the manufacturer recommends it.
Record whether an indicator appears and what the manual says it means. Do not treat every light as proof of a full charge.
Stop when the documented checks do not resolve it
Send Dear Tingle support the model, order number and observations. Describe “no indicator” or “indicator appears but no operation” instead of diagnosing a failed battery yourself.
The travel-lock guide and indicator guide cover those separate branches. This checklist is for organising a support enquiry, not repairing electronics at home.
